The biggest disappointment for me was this was my first time ever going to Lois Mann's. Super fun the moment you walked in the door. The regular customers also feel like a welcoming committee. What an absolute fun experience. An additional bonus with the food price and taste was delicious. Oh and then I forgot to mention the decor. If you get a chance please stop by and check it out you won't be disappointed.
This charming diner is a true hidden gem on South High Street. Lois Mann has been a fixture in this neighborhood for over 50 years and with good reason. If you are a fan of terrific, inexpensive food, along with personal service and a hint of charm, this restaurant is well worth seeking out. Bonus points if you love Christmas!
This place is neat!!! The Xmas lights, decor, and trees... it's festive and fun to look at. The food is good and service is fast and kid friendly... imma have to go back tho.... not only for the food but I'm pretty sure i forgot my to go box on top of my car.... as I drove off... the bite or 2 of pancakes we got... were good!!
WOW! What an amazing morning. We were meeting another couple for breakfast, and they had heard about this place from the tic-tok-ers. South end neighborhood, I thought I knew what to expect. No way! First off, take note of the crumbling brick wall as you enter. Take time to notice all the delightful little "inserts" that prepare you for the experience... these are truly clever. When you walk through the doors, you will think you're in Santa's breakroom. Christmas trees galore, everything is lit and twinkling, the smell of coffe and breakfast swirling. And the people are super friendly. Our waitress was busy, but absolutely charming. Our food was okay, but I seasoned it up, and was good to go. Great sausage gravy. Pricing was super low, and worth every dime. Just an overall great, great experience. And yes, we're coming back for the polka! Oh, yeah, its cash only, so bring a $20 for each person. And say hi to Chuck when your there.
Two people can eat for cheap and still get great homemade food. You've got to check this out! It's Christmas on the side and has blue grass/banjo/blues tends to play every so often. If you're in that music genre, or if you sing and play, walk in and set it up so you can showcase. Great for musicians. Low key. Outside looks shady but super cut and welcoming inside. Great staff & owner!
Thus small Mom and Pop type restaurant has a Christmas theme all year round. Great food and big helpings. Everyone is so friendly. It has been in this location for 14 years and was on Parsons for over 30 years before they moved to S High street. Cash only.
If you love a good meal and Christmas, this is your restaurant. Very cool little diner with delicious food and great prices. A warm and friendly atmosphere with service to match. My children, wife, and I all got Christmas presents after finishing our perfect breakfast on Christmas Eve! We are officially big fans of Lois Mann's.
Decided to go off the beaten path this morning. Went to Lois Mann's on High Street. They have been at this location for 11 years and 40+ years at their previous location. My waitress was Julie, very good waitress that checked on me numerous times. Ordered a #5- 2 Eggs, hash browns and biscuit and gravy. The eggs were cooked to a perfect medium, the hash browns were made with skin on potatoes that had a phenomenal deep potato flavor. Could have just ordered a plate of them. On to the star of the show, you get this huge biscuit, perfect texture, split it open and pour a huge bowl of gravy on it. Gravy was made with a nice sausage. Yummmy!!! All this for $6.95. Cheap and delicious food is a major plus. On to what everyone talks about, the decor. Place is one big Christmas Decoration. And quite the collection of guitars all over the place. I will definitely have to come back for the lunch menu sometime. Everyone needs to check this place out, especially if you have kids.
